Overview
LevyCheck is designed with privacy at its core. We provide a free strata levy benchmarking service that does not require an account, email address, or any personally identifiable information.
Information We Collect
Levy Submissions
When you submit a levy check, we collect:
- Building address and postcode (to match against known strata schemes)
- Quarterly levy amount
- Building characteristics you provide (storeys, lot count, construction year, amenities)
- An anonymised hash of your IP address (for deduplication only — we do not store your actual IP address)
- A Cloudflare Turnstile verification (to prevent automated abuse)
Email Waitlist
If you choose to join the waitlist for upcoming features (such as Deep Audit), we collect:
- Your email address
- A link to the results page you were viewing at the time
This is entirely optional and is not required to use the benchmarking service. Your email will only be used to notify you when the feature becomes available. You can request removal at any time by contacting us.
Automatically Collected
Like most websites, our hosting provider (Vercel) may collect:
- Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited)
- Anonymous usage analytics via Vercel Analytics
How We Use Your Data
- Benchmarking — Your levy submission is compared against aggregated data to generate your results
- Crowdsourced benchmarks — Submitted levy amounts contribute to our benchmark dataset, helping other strata owners. Only the building address, levy amount, and building characteristics are used — never personal information
- Deduplication — The anonymised IP hash prevents duplicate submissions for the same building within a 30-day window
- Anti-abuse — Cloudflare Turnstile verification helps prevent automated or malicious use
- Feature notifications — If you join a waitlist, your email is used solely to notify you when the feature launches
What We Don't Collect
- Names or phone numbers
- Email addresses, unless you voluntarily join a feature waitlist
- Financial information beyond the levy amount you enter
- Login credentials (there are no user accounts)
- Location data beyond the building address you provide
Third-Party Services
- Google Maps Places API — Used for address autocomplete. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy
- Cloudflare Turnstile — Used for anti-abuse verification. Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy
- Vercel — Our hosting and analytics provider. Subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy
Data Retention
Levy submissions and their results are stored indefinitely to maintain benchmark accuracy and allow users to revisit their results via the unique results URL. Anonymised IP hashes are retained for the 30-day deduplication window.
Your Rights
Levy submissions do not contain personal information that could identify you. If you have joined a feature waitlist, you can request deletion of your email at any time by contacting us. If you have concerns about a specific submission, please contact us and we can investigate.
